how big of a tank t=do oscars need?

A 75 is pushing it for a single oscar, but for 2 you definatly need a bigger tank

75 for 2 is not fine, let alone adding a pleco into the mix. Three large bioload fish is no good. It's fine for one with good water quality. 125 would be amazing for the stock you have if you take care of the water.

yeah like stated a 75g is good for 1 O but def need a larger tank for 2 and a pleco, especially if it is a common pleco or sailfin, those things are poop machines and get huge, you should def save up for the 125g, keep your eyes out for deals on craigslist as you can always find great deals on there, i would never buy a tank new from the store anymore just for that reason (unless it was like some kind of custom order of course)

I was at the liqour store the other day and saw a very large Oscar (about 10 inches or so) in a 10 gallon tank and get this, it had a divider with nothing on the other side. Needless to say I won't be going back to that store again. Anyway, the 75 is a bit too small for 2 Oscars but at least you don't have them in a 10 gallon tank with a divider. I just wanted to get into a fight that day.

I agree with the majority, two Oscars need something much larger than a 75. I think keeping a single Oscar in a 55 or two in a 75 are the wrong ways to keep such potentially large cichlids. A larger tank with good filtration and regular water changes keeps them healthy and in prime conditions.
