it all depends on temperment and sex of the fish with a docile female jag prolly 125, but with a docile male a 150, agressive jag nothing less than 180.

Yeah I'm thinking of a male jag who'd want a female unless you're breeding?

I want to add killerfish if you're looking at new tanks here's my unasked for advice.lol Wait a bit longer...save up some more money and buy the absolute largest tank you can budget for and have floorspace for. Good luck.

i agree, male jags get big and agressive, plus you want a GT and other cichlid..i wouldn't go with anything less than 150 gallons

well to start off, it's not a good combo, to cichlids know to be agro, together is never a good match, but you can attempt it and it has been done, the tank should be 125+ gallons

If the Jag is very territorial it really won't matter what tank size you get, it will end badly. The advice give so far is what I would have suggested.

It can work, because the fish you are talking about can really have variable personalities between individuals, the right fish make all the difference.

i would say do not go below 150. even with that you may have some problems .and dont be surprised if you wake up some day and one of them is dead

I have had a O that was mucho Aggro and handled himself very well with a Aggro Tex, Salvini, and a GT.

And I have also had a O that was such a puss that a smaller FM kicked his azz all around the tank.

Do I have a good answer? Prob not, but, again the combo with a O has less of a chance......

IMHO

If you do, get the O bigger than the Jag, that will help.
