How can I cure my fish?

I have an elephant nose fish in my 50gal tank along with a shoal of tiger barbs and denison barbs. Everyone gets on well so there are no problems there.

One of my tigers yesterday started glancing off the rocks, he has a small red blotch (the size of a large pin head) near his tail.

Can anyone recommend a good treatment for the tiger? I have read somewhere that the elephant won't like chemical meds in the tank. I don't have a seperate quarantine tank - so what should I do to treat the tiger?

It sounds like he has ammonia burn from high amounts of ammonia in your tank. What are your water parameters??

Definately check your ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate, then let us know what the results are.
