About 4 days ago i got 2 new rotkeil severums one about 9" and the other about 8" they both came from the same place and seem to be very healthy. The problem is they wont eat, its been 4 days so far and i have not seen them eat anything. Iv offered a couple differnt size pellets, beef heart, cichlid delight, frozen blood worms, and some cucumber and zucchini. Are there any tricks that anyone has used with success? All water parameters are right and the tank has been set up for years. Thanks

4 days is nothing for an adult cichlid to go without eating. Give them some time to settle into their new surroundings and they will eventually come around.

Agree with Rd, adult cichlids can be massive babies when it comes to being moved I have had them take 4/5 weeks before they start eating properly.

Thanks for the replys everybody, im currently offering the same pellets the previous owner fed them so maybe they need more time to settle in

Just an update guys i finally got these guys to eat. An old man i work with said he rubs garlic all over his fishing lures and suggested i try some garlic on their food. I added some fresh garlic to a media bag and hung it over into the water about 5 minutes before feeding time and these guys perked up right away. Both ate some pellets and frozen brine shrimp
