PGH

Pleco growth hormone! Lol ^^ what was said above is the only way really. Not a good thing to do unless you are trying to fatten them up because the pleco is to skinny

I wonder if increasing the temperature of the water would help or hurt. Generally, increasing the water temperature (and increasing oxygenation, additional current/filtration and or water changes) increases the metabolism of fish, so increasing the water temperature along with food intake would theoretically increase the growth rate.
However, you have blue phantoms, and one school of thought is that these fish are the same as the green phantoms, but from different populations based on water temperature (blues being from cooler water). Could increasing the water temperature also affect the color of these phantoms?

I've heard the same, makes sense to me plus warmer water generally makes fish more active vs cold water (74)

The phantoms just seem to be slower growers than many other species to me. I have a roughly 8inch blue. I've had him for 2years and i think he's grown an inch. And he seems to scavange about for food much of the day. Smaller ones should grow a tad quicker though

big tank, more food, and big water changes
so put it in a 6ft tank for a few years
thats how i got my hypancistrus big
