I just got a 12'' ornate bichir. Ever since I added him to my 125 gallon aquarium 1 of my 2 flagtail prochildous and pleco have been sucking his slime coat. I've taken out the flagtail redid the tank and he did it again. So tomorrow I am rehoming that one stupid flagtail and pleco. The flagtails are well fed so there is no reason for them to be doing that.
He has some scars from it. What can I do to help? Melafix?
He hasn't eaten either probably stressed from the stupid flagtail and pleco.

Props on rehoming the flagtail and pleco. I know that is not an easy thing to do.

Although, I cannot speak to the medication recommendation. As tlindsey tlindsey says, clean water is key. Dimming the lights temporarily might also help with stress.
