How can i Lower my PH?

Is there any quick and easy ways to Lower my PH???

Like i know u can raise Ph by using oyster shells. anyone got any ideas, i heard the ph down in a bottle is a scam.

Why are you lowering it? Unless your fish are wild caught from soft acidic waters, there is no need to.

Sorry forgot to add, that my ph is around 8.0

i wanted to stock it with a silver aro, and hopefully try to breed yellow nugget plecos.

Add RO water (slowly!) or add peat moss to your filter.

What are your KH and GH? If your KH is very high, then you'll have a hard time lowering the pH. In this case, mix RO water in to be able to lower the KH.

Im not sure, i dont have anything to test for it. Ill try to test it soon.


How would i prepare peat moss, so i can use it in my filter.

Stuff the peat moss in a nylon bag and put it in the filter. It'll take a lot of peat to lower the pH if your KH is high.

Adding Driftwood to your tank can help lower the PH a bit.

RO helps by lowering the hardness and therefore making it easier to change the ph
