Im planning on going to florida this summer and possibly texas in the next year or so. I am also going to cyprus next year. I would love to be able to bring my own rods and reels with me through my travels. Would a normal pro travel bag be able to go on a plane with me? Here is a case I found which I think could work http://www.cabelas.com/product/Boat...ts&WTz_l=DirectLoad;cat104541480#BVRRWidgetID
How would I go about bringing this on the plane and how much would you think it will cost to transport roughly 5 rods with me? I plan on buying a couple more spinning rods and reels that are higher end and more durable than mine to take them with me and also a couple nice baitcasters. What do you believe the cost would be if I were to transport maybe 5 rods in this case and if this case wont work can u guys share with me one that will work? Thanks again everyone

They make rod cases for that stuff. Or I would personally just ship them to where I was staying. That's usually what I do

Check baggage cost about $25 per bag up to 50 lbs (I believe they charge more for the 2nd+ bag). They will charge more for over 50 lbs and oversize items.

reels in your carry on, rods are a bit tougher. taking 5 rods and reels is probably a lot more than is necessary in most situations

DIY: you can make a simple and strong rod case out of pvc pipes in like 15minutes
