Lately, I've been unplugging my filters during feeding time, but I keep forgetting to plug them back in. Is there some kind power button I can get that will turn the filters back on automatically after 5 or 10 minutes?
Yes its called a timer. If you feed your fish at the same time every day you can set the timer to cut the filters off then back on after a certain amount of time.
My questions to you are. Why are you cutting your filters off to feed your fish? How long are the filters being left off for? If left off for long periods of time you could be harming your BB in you filters.
x2 on this idea too. I have a problem with my overflow, my aro only eats floating pellets and I don't want them got sucked in there. 15 mins should be fine with the bacteria thing. The problem is I don't feed my fish at an exactly time every day, so something like a timer switch to turn it off manually then it goes back on after 15'' is what I'm looking for.

I thought about that, but I don't feed my fish at the exact same time everyday. I have several 24 hour timers for my lights, but programming one of them for a filter each time I feed my fish would get annoying very quick.
It's actually only one filter that I'm unplugging, which is an FX5 that I hard plumbed last week. The FX5 causes a ton of water movement and sucks up a lot of food when I leave it on, so unplugging it for a few minutes seems to be the logical thing to do. It's not my main bio-filter either. I also have 2 Filstar XP3's, 4 XP2's, and an eheim 2026 for bio-filtration. I have a multi-tank water-bridged tank system.
buy a new powerstrip, and only plug your filters into that one..
then simply write a sticky note on your fish food bag or tank to remind you to turn it back on?
Plenty of people turn off there pumps or filters during feeding time. This seems to be a common problem. I'm just looking to find a good solution, like a snooze power button, if it exists.
Many of my fish are clown loaches and they are hiding in caves when I start feeding. The smaller sinking foods won't be in the tank for 5 seconds before they start getting sucked up by the filter. I feed several times per day with various foods. Some don't get sucked up by the filter, like the large carnivore pellets and algae wafers.

what you are looking for kinda sounds like a timed reset butten that when you press it works kinda like the sinks in the bathrooms at food places. only shut off for a few minits then kicks back on. im not shour if thay make a simple plug in the only time i have seen them thay had to be programed and hard wired in place. the best place i could tell you to look is your local radio shack thay may have one or be able to get something like it.
