I know that when we pull them out of there natural environment their lips shrink, is there a way we could keep them with large lips?

I think I read that if they are kept on sand and spend more time digging that they stay bigger. I think it's an adaptation to they way they collect food in the wild.
I've seen some adults that still have their big lips. I asked Shawn Armentrout (YouTube him) about it and he said it's a coin toss whether they loss them or keep them.
Big lips on a Red Devil doesn't look right too me as the name conjures up images of big teeth not big lips. If they were called Red Diva it would make more sense.

If I remember correctly they have big lips cus where there caught the substrate had a lot of sharp rocks, the big lips protect there jaws from damage while there digging, some people have had success using small pieces of alfa-grog as the substrate
