HOW can you confuse a convict with a tilapia?!?!

ok i was at my LFS and this guy brought in a big bucket and said i have an 8 inch convict cichlid?:screwy:!?!in i wait until they get him into a tank then say thats not a convict that is a Buttikofferi tilapia and the guy that brought it in is arguing with me that its a convict so a this point i am starting to get a little frustrated with his stupidity so i show him a picture of one of my convicts and them he just stops talking and walks away but my point is have you ever met someone so oblivious to fish species that they cant tell a tilapia apart from a convict ?!?!:(
 
majority of fish keepers on earth cant tell you the difference between a comet and jack dempsy. were addicted so we notice and study all the details. if somebody tells me they dont know the difference in something i dont hold it against them. its when they dont know and continue to argue somethin that bugs me. love how you could give him an example to back up your arguement!

Exactly...you are a pro he is a rookie. I am sure someone sold it to him as a convict so that is what he has believed for as long as he has had it. I was fishing one time and a guy caught a 28" walleye, great catch but he told his 10 year old son it was a steelhead. I tried correcting him but he was sure he had a steelhead.
 
It may be frustrating, but remember that we as monsterfishkeepers are charged with educating people. It can be difficult (teacher here) not everyone is ready to learn. Being overly nice will help.
