How can you keep an Arowana from hurting itself when it jumps in a tank? Mine recently hurt itself and I had to do surgery on it. But I don't want this to happen again. So does anyone have suggestions to how I can prevent or protect it from injuring itself again?

Use glass or thick acrlyic as cover. Those light diffuser looking stuffs as cover is like razor waiting to cut your fish up.

glue some kind of sponge or cushion on the cover? or get those white plastic fence looking things to cover your tank and glue a cushion on it.

egg crate as a berrier with a lot of long floating plastic plants. That's worked out very well for us.

I just use a lot of stuff around the top like floating plants, hanging driftwood, etc.

It seems that well mine at least didn't want to jump unless he kmew he was in a big rectangular box.

running tank with lights on 24hrs a day will reduce a arowanas tendency to jump, as will keeping it well feed, giving it plenty of room and tank mates that dont harass it....
