im planning to get a baby jardini arowana and temporarily keep it in my 28 gallon tank. my h.o.t. magnum filter has a flow rate of 250 gallons per hour. so by tank would be cycling a little less than 9 times per hour. is that enuff for the jardini and no other fish? i heard oscars need their tanks cycled 10 times per hour.

I don't think you should have a problem. I don't find them to be that dirty. What are you going to be putting it in when it is bigger?

ya that should be enough. but you will need a bigger tank cause they get around 3 feet cant remeber exact lenght.

i would try to get a 120 + tank and make a wet dry for it. thanks for the fast response!

You wil want something bigger than a 120 for him. He will need at least something 2' wide. I would go with a 180 minimum.

shooot good thing i found out. i wouldnt want to buy a big tank and just have to sell it later :grinno: any one have a pic of their adult jardini?

agreed bigger if possible(wider not longer)

I don't have a jardini but I have a silver. I have it in a 55gl right now. Then it will go to a 90gl and them either in a 6' pond or a 300gl I might be getting that is 5'x4'x2'.

Use the search option and type in jardini and you should find some pics.

i own one, i got him in a 120g and he's doing fine. i keep him in a bare tank, no substrate or any background. i think i have a couple of pics in my gallery
