That's a good sign that your filter is working though
Growing up in the country most of my life, I can imagine all the garbage I've drank. Now I gulp down chemicals. I actually miss the taste of well water
I consider myself very lucky. We have good well water (pH 7.6, dKH 6, nitrate<1) with almost no sediment and low iron. I change out about 100 gallons per day, so not having to do anything to the water is a huge plus. We had to drill through 550' of basalt to get it, but it is worth it.
Yeah, it cost as much to drill the well as my wife's new Volvo XC90. The average here is around 300-500', but we had to go to 580' to get the flow we wanted.
