how come only 2 barbels? RTC

ive noticed the pics of the rtcs here have 4 barbels on the lower chin, how come mine only has 2? just wondering, different species?

It could be genetic defect or injury. Pics? When did you buy the fish and when did you notice the difference?

Mine only has three, but there's a little nub where the 4th one should be. Here's a pic if you look close you can see what I mean. Been like that since I got him.
