so i have 4 bns 2 black ones and 2 albinos and one of the black ones are really aggressive and gets most of the food. dw ive figured out another way so they all get food.

anyways i want to get some L-numbers and peppermint and they will be much smaller then the bristlenose(my bns are still juvies 5-7 cms) and i was wondering if the bns will become aggressive towards the smaller new plecos.

i will rearrange the tank if i get new plecs so they wont be so territorial.

thanks

This all depends on how large the tank is and how many territories the plecos can set up in the tank. Bushies aren't to aggressive unless it's feeding time and once it chases the other plecos away it will stop there. Just give them lots of driftwood and they will all be happy campers. Multiple feeding stations will also help with any aggression.

Sometimes the males are fairly agggressive with each other even if there are plenty of places to hide, it also depends if there is a egged up female or two ready. I have not noticed them attacking my peppermint or gold nuggets.

exactly right . . . no point answering the question until we know this . . . I keep only single BNs in my small tanks (55G and under), and even in my 90G tank I keep just one large BN and a few bulldogs . . .

two BNs in a small space will compete with one another . . . BNs and bulldogs don't really compete, since they occupy different zones in the tanks, with the BNs on the driftwood and the bulldogs on the glass . . .
