I may be getting a cortez stingray this summer, will I be risking my life by keeping one. Have any of the ray keepers on here been stung?

Thanks

No you won't be risking your life. They are very timid and the only way you would get stung is if you step on or grab at their tail.

I've been tagged several times. There are a few thread in the FW rays section that talk about what it's like.

I always describe it as injecting your hand/arm/where ever with gasoline, then lighting that on fire. My last tag was in the palm of my right hand a couple weeks ago by a female yellow ray.

now I'll worry that I will get stung, i hand feed them all the time and pet them at times as well as children and grandchildren

so THATS what u do on the wknds! lol.

If you are worried about getting "tagged".....clip off the barb.... and if you need instructions ask Zoodiver. He's the expert even though he has been tagged a couple of times... He still knows what he's doing. And being the fact that you let your children and grandchildren pet them, it's better to be safe then sorry "...I always say..." ( threw in a "Shrek" quote...WHAT WHAT)
