I'm Where I'm At
I am not sure if its just a stereotype by the media but popular culture always depict US cops love to eat dougnuts either on duty or at their Station or inside their cruiser.

And during the Boston manhunt for the terrorists Dunkin Donuts remain open to serve cops. So I figure there must be some truth to this culture.

So what is the history between doughnuts and cops? As a man who loves dougnuts I am curious because I've personally never seen a cop eat a doughnut in their cruiser or on break at a coffee/donut shop ever

Idk, I don't wanna sound hateful or anything, but people relate cops to pigs a lot as an insult, and donuts kinda fit into that as an unhealthy fattening and lazy food?

If that makes any sense....

Because back in the day, cops would be hanging out at the donut shops in the early hours of the morning when everything else was closed. Waiting for a call, drinking coffee, and eating donuts. I would do the same thing...

So the "shelter in place"order didnt apply to DD employees?

I wonder how far back the term "pig" has been used to insult cops. because I personally only remembered that term being popular in the last decade or two.

and the cops and donuts thing, I remember seeing it since the dukes of hazards iirc

that's what I find funny, because there's always been different kind of people that worked really late or really early. not just cops

Bad cop. No donut.

I can recall the pig term being used on cop shows as far back as when I was growing up on the seventies.

Even as far back as the 50s and 60s.
