How do I change gravel quickly in my tank?

I found a lot of nice pea gravel in a river and it looks awesome how do I change the gravel out without stressing the heck out of my fish?

I used a new plastic dust pan with a hollow handle so as I scooped up sand, I held it over the tank at an angle,and the water stayed in the tank

As long as you are not running an under gravel filter siphoning it out with a wide diameter hose should be no problem

I use a medium size fish net.

X2 on the dust pan.

Pick up a brand new one with a rubber front lip and a hollow handle, which will allow for draining of excess water with each scoop.
