Went to the mountains and came back with 3 driftwoods. Was 4 but then my brother's friend accidentally threw my masterpiece into the waterfall. I want to use them for my new tank, but I want to make it safe for my aquarium. Thanks.

Boiling it works fine, or baking it in the oven.

Are they water logged yet?

Yes, they are already submersible. If I boil it, what are the procedures? And would it be safe for my fish.

boiling is good to kill off organisms and to help remove some of the tannin. Procedure is simple, throw wood in pot of water on stove bring to boil, leave till water goes dark, change water and repeat until you are either a: tired of the process or b: the water is not going as dark from the tannin. Tannin is harmless it just makes the tank water look yellowish, it can be removed by using carbon or purigen in your filter

I normally take it outside, scrub it lightly with an S.O.S pad, and rinse it with the hose. Then in the tank it goes....:). Most piece of driftwood are too large to boil, which is kind of annoying because you have to keep flipping the driftwood so you can be sure to boil all parts of it.

I never clean my driftwood that I get from the rivers & lakes. Never had a problem from that either. I just bring in the wood from the lake/river, look for leeches, if there are none, I toss it in the tank. I do the same with rocks, except I make sure not to collect them from the water.
