this weekand i founs some cool slate formed from granit and some sort of sedimentary rock and some white and black marble i would like to add it to my tank but how do i clean it do i scrub and boil it like driftwood???

I always boil them for 15 minutes and leave them in the hot water until they are cool enough to touch(just did so again today). Once cool I wipe them off to remove any dirt or sand still on the rock. Might be excessive but easy and I never had a problem. Takes a couple of hours but only 5 minutes of actual hands on work.

^^ Boiling always works for me, too. You can use that same method for wood, also.

I always just hosed them off with the garden hose, and took a scrub brush to them if they were really dirty (trying to keep them from muddying up my water).

I squirt it thoroughly with the hose in the driveway. I've done this dozens of times on rock collected locally or brought in from a landscape yard...
