Hi

I just got my new fish, including one tiretrack (estimated 10"), and two frenatus which looks like earthworms atm. they are about 2-3" and very shy

how do I feed them? I think they are big enough to eat bloodworms but they arent forraging while Im watching anyways. Maybe they are eating when the lights are out, but its hard to tell since I barely see them

is there anything they are pretty certain to eat even hough they dont move much?

Have you tried putting the bloodworms where they hide so the don't have to move to get them? They may refuse to eat for a week or two until they have settled in to the tank, but most of the time it only takes them a few days. GL.

P.S. I hope the smaller eels aren't small enough to fit in the TT's mouth...:nilly: If they are, then you may want to keep them in a separate tank (or put a divider in their existing tank) until they grow a couple inches.

what i do with my tt eel is freeze cubes of food and gravel from the tank(to make it sink) then drop tht in the tank. he usually goes right for it even if the lights are on. hes about 7-8 inches. bloodworms, shrimp, i break up my oscars pellets to and add those.what the tt doesnt eat my gouarmis will. then clean up rly good after everything else

try feeding right after lights are out.. or an hour afterwards... or an hour before lights go on in the am. have patience.. they should start hovering blood worms quick. and I agree.. keep an eye on the TT.

They were eating fine after a couple of days, even tho they could only fit a couple of bloodwormds.

I havent seen them lately though. I hope they are hiding since the TT didnt pay any interest in them while they were visible. Might have become expensive earthworm-snacks.. but at least the TT is happy then :\
