Google is really bad at this. I've tried so many searches, and I can't even find the one I found the first time. All I want to know is the list of species of fish found in John Sam Lake in Washington. But it never turns up anything useful. I've done -real -estate -city, etc. There's got to be a better way, but even fish and game doesn't list the lake in their search.

Or visit a local Bait and Tackle Shop, they usually know what fish are in local lakes.

Try the department of natural resources web site. The dnr site here in michigan lists all of the lakes/rivers per county and the dnr stocking lists of these waters for the past 12 years :grinno:.

I have to agree with Chris. I do basically the same thing here in Arizona. Check your fishing rules and regulations which can be picked up at your local tackle shop. It should list the information you may be looking for. Another thing you might try, is if you have a Fishing forum in your local newspaper, it might have a listing of some kind.

Here in the White Mountains of Arizona, they have a listing like this which cover all bodies of water up here in the mountains. It gives you info as to what fish are in the lakes, streams, rivers, etc.; the best types of successful bait, lure or fly which seem to work and the best time to fish (am and pm). It will also list what bodies of water are closed to fishing because of mating season, endangerment, etc. and it will list the catch limits if any.

I hope this helps you with your research. Good luck. ~ David
