I have 2 senegalus, 1 is 5" and the other is 9" both were bought at the same time about 2 months ago.. They were both 4".. They were fed on beef heart.. I now want to get them on pellets.. They have'nt eaten in the past 2 days.. I've been throwing pellets in front of them, they just smell it nd move on.. Sinking pellets r not availabe here.. I've been trying to feed them AZOO's Arowana sticks.. Any ideas on how to get them to eat pellets ???

Feeding pellets is difficult if you don't start them when they're small, but it's not impossible.

Don't offer them everyday, instead fast them for 3 days then try. If they don't take it, fast another 2 days and try again.

You want the smell of the pellets to be fresh and strong, which will entice them to feed since they're hungry.

i only throw pellets in my tank, eventually i saw all my bichirs doing upward dive bombs to eat pellets. ever since i haven't had any issues. took over a month tho for them to realize thats where food comes from

try some sinking carnivore pellets after you havent fed them for around 5 days. Most senegalus will eat anything that can be easily grabbed if they are hungry.
