How do I grow hair aglea?

I know some hate it, but I like it. But how do I actually grow it? Never been able to get it to grow.

Let your tank get alot of light .

Buy a plant with some on it at the lfs. Leave your lights on for 14 hours a day.

Yea... Find a plant that has some on it and bingo. Thats the easy way to do it.

keep your head underwater for 3 weeks and leave the lights on..

leave the tank 24/7 hopefully you get hair algae among with other algae friends...take out an inhabitant of the fish tank since they might get stressed out by 24/7 lighting

a lot of nitrates and sufficient light exposure time. i had about 4 watts per gallon before i took all the driftwood out and did a bleach dip, but i did leave them on for 14-16 hours a day. i cut the wattage in half and only run the light on for 8 hours a day now.

found that out the hard way, but learned my lesson. it looked nice while it lasted but the bristlenose couldnt keep up and food/dirt kept getting caught in it.

Yeah dude, just get a plant from a LFS with hair algae and put it in your tank with 10+ hours of light.

It actually looks interesting when some strands form on the walls of the tank and reach into it...
