How do I make DIY trim?

As some of you know i got a free 55 gallon aquarium but the trim on the middle brace on the top is snapped in 2 and the bottom trim isnt even there. so what i need to know is how do i make DIY trim for a 48"x12" aquarium? and sugggestions would help!
 
thats y i want to just do a DIY trim..i dont have enough money for the glass cages trim right now :(
 
my lfs can order me some 55 gallon trim for $20 for the top and $20 for the bottom trim. is this a good deal or should i look elsewhere?
 
well i would probably have my dad help me and we got all the tools necessary..i think..but ya i could make one
 
I have the same problem with my 55g and 75g. lfs 50 phantoms in new orleans can order them for me 50bucks. I live in baton rouge but making one is a good idea as well. if u make one post some pics if u don't mind
 
It is definitely not impossible to make one. it would actually be quite simple. Little bit of edge moulding and some 1Xs and you'd be in business.
