I am sick and tired of these damn diatoms. What do I do? I have anubias in the tank, will using phosguard to get rid of silicates damage them?

My other tank still has them after about 6 months. They're either being leeched from the pool filter sand I used in both tanks, or they're just in my well water.

A bn pleco will eat it all in a few hours. If you got room for one and it fits your stocking plans

normally this is due to new setups and unestablished filters because of ammonia and silicates. how long has this tank been running?

No plecos. I don't want to risk them sucking on my bichirs.

The tank has been established for about 2 months and has a fully established biological filter. Ammonia and nitrite are zero. I know the diatoms will persist for more than a couple months because they still persist after SIX-EIGHT months in my turtle tank.

I want a quick fix to wipe out silicates, but I want to make sure it won't harm my plants.
