Hi

As, some of you might know i bought my auranti roughly 1 1/2 month ago..
a little thing, only around 14cm..now it has grown to around 27cm!!
so, the present tank was getting a bit too small..

Today, i went to my LHS, and seriously abused my credit card for a new tank, stand, light and so on..:D

Now. the place where the new tank is going to be is where my old tank is..i know it is not ideal, but its the only place that fits.

I am going to use my old filters, so i don't have to cycle the the new tank.

What i plan to do is this:
-remove the fish, tear down the old tank, quick and messy..
-put up the new tank, put already washed substrate in together with wood, rocks all prepared beforehand.
-fill up the tank with water from the old tank mixed with new water
-connect the filters and finally put the fish back in..

How does this sound?..anything i have missed? or should do differently?

Also, any advise as to how to actually catch the auranti, as quickly and safely as possible?..i dont want to stress it more than i have to.

Any input is greatly appriciated.

plastic bag the auranti, pillow case, t-shirt, towel... i've tried all these methods b4 worked well 4 me...

dont forget to drain the water in the tank so it is safer and easier to catch. another alternative would be to use the dual net technique or the single net/twist motion to trap the snakehea into not being able to jump out at you. good luck! snakeheads r pretty damn scary to catch :p i hate doin it !
