I'm pretty sure my Senegal is overweight. He definitely has a very rounded body, and I've cut down his feeding to every two days, but now that I'm feeding him less he acts like he's starving and will eat his normal cube of frozen food, steal the tubifex cube from the knife fish, and then pick off the crickets and freeze dried bloodworms I feed the butterfly fish. I've even seen him go after the broccoli or green beans I put in for my plecos. I try feeding him first and keeping him distracted, but it takes him less than a minute to eat all of his food. Is there a better way to feed him? I really don't want his health at risk because he's a fatty.

First, I don't think there is an issue with bichirs being too fat as its not going to kill them. Typical sens or albino sen usually will go after whatever food you drop in the tank.
Second, don't mix plecos with bichirs, BAD COMBINATIONS, n its been discussed in the forum so many times. You may see them getting along together, but the pleco will eventually suck the slime coat of your bichirs or other fishes in the same tank.
cheers

Yup agreed

Ok I just worried that he'd end up unhealthy if he kept gobbling down so much food. I'll move the plecos for now, they're two baby bristlenoses. I keep hoping to get another tank soon so I could keep bichirs and other fish separate, but the one I'd like to get has two oscars and a clown knife in it at the moment at the shop, and those guys need to get homes first before I can drag that tank home.
