Cucumbers are not worth it. Go with zucchini. I scrub it with vinegar, slice it thick and rubberband it to a rock. You can also push a never-seen-soap solid stainless fork through it, but that gives me visions of impaled eyes, so I avoid it. There's also a device called the 'screwcumber' which is really a waste of money unless you just want to support the product.

Also, cut out the seeds. I've found nothing that eats them and they just float around and rot. So you end up with an 'O' shaped green slice on a small piece of slate held by a rubberband, not too tightly or the veg will drop in half once it's waterlogged.

What are you feeding? Some like it blanched while others, like most plecos and snails, take it hard and raw.

Cucumbers lack electrolytes and are far weaker on most other fronts. Zucchini is usually around the same price and knocks cucumber out of the park on nutrition.

you can also buy a clip commonly used to hold seaweed for saltwater fish at most pet stores and use that. It even has a suction cup

Zucchini is better, just cut it, don't cook it, stick it with a stainless steel fork, and drop it in.

I seen cucumbers in a goldfish tank. Is this something a Koi might like? .I feed mine pellets and they are growing well but somehting different might be interesting to watch.

thanks

I've done this a few times. I've always done cucumbers because I grow cucumbers. Just cut it up and take out the seeds. I just put it under a ornament.

I feed both zucchini and cucumber to my plecos. Zucchini is a lot healther for the fish but I feed them cucumber once in a while for a change. I peel it, blanch it, stick it with a fork for weight, and put it in the tank. My suverums wil also eat some of it.
