How do I sex gold fish

Hiya everyone,

Could someone advise a newbi gold fish owner on how to sex them. I have 2 comets and 1 fantail.

What should I look for on the fish ?...I have some pics, but not sure if they will be any help. I will be more than happy to take some more if needed.

You can't really tell by just looking at them. The only time I've been able to tell is when they get in the breeding mood.. the males get white spots on their cheeks

but they come into breeding when there about 3years old and normally the female is way chubbier than the male and the male will be chasing the female around when there ready to breed
