i have had this severum for a while now, since it was a baby, i would like to know its sex it is 5" big and he/she has been carrying sand in its mouth to idk where but cleared a certain terrain from playsand making my filter loud.. and was like always near that cleaned up area he/she made.. now, i also have a similar sized MALE convict but smaller as soon as he is in i thought the severum was going to try to breed with it as i heard sevs have interbred wit other SA cichlids like convicts, especially cons as they breed wit anything.. but instead the two lip locked and barely got along, it has BARELY white things down its face and has VERY long anal and dorsal fins, it does not have the white stripes, they are very faded, and is just a total green no stripes, the anal fin is reddish instead of green like his whole body, is ALL green though, one time whenever i putted my gourami i used to have in the past with the severum, the severum would turn TOTALLY STRIPED it looked like i had another fish it was SO cool but these black stripes only appeared when the gourami entered the territory, the sev didnt attack it though just turned all striped, it scared me for like 10 mins as it looked like a different fish..
how do i sex my 5" Severum

yeah post pic, also what size is your tank? if it is too small then the sev is always going to fight with the con because they dont have enough room for their own territories
