well first in my 240 I had a female Amarillo breed with a large male Red Devil on the left side. then on the right side I have a male Red Devil mate with my Fader Flowerhorn. I don't want them breeding in this tank because there are other fish in there that they all push to the middle. then in a 30 gal i have 2 Flowerhorn divided and the female on the left has laid eggs. I tried to get the male (from the same batch) on the right to fertilize the eggs but it was too late and they started fighting.

With the Amarillo and Red Devil we took out the fry and have them in a 40 gal breeder with KKP and Texas fry. (they're separated). wondering how the Amarillo and Red Devil offspring will turn out. I'm trying to avoid having my fish pair off with each other and spawn every month. basically the 240 is mainly a community tank. that's how i want it at least. tia.

you could try getting all females or all males

yeah i would have mostly all males but then what would i do with my females. some of them are nice too.

sell them on aqua bid or bring em to your lfs . i would say have all females cuz the males will kill each other after a while

I was just about to suggest that but it is hard to do that when you grow them up from little.

yeah i have a nice female Flowerhorn with super nice coloring and pearling that just layed eggs. i've seen both parents. and also the Amarillo i been wanting for a long time, and now i finally have one. sorta has sentimental value. maybe i should just start breeding projects and get more tanks. lol. or try to sell them off one by one.

some times tank temperature doesn't matter

my tanks temp IS low. around 79-80 on the 240, and anywhere from 78-80 on my little 30 gal with the FHs.
