How do i train my silver aro to eat from me?

Hello, my silver aro is 6-7 inches now. All i feed it is mealworms and foodpellets. But im planning to feed him some frozen prawn. How can i teach him to eat from my hand?

silver aros arnt that agressive at hand feeding. just be patient. the first few weeks feed normally but stand close to the tank so the aro is familiar with you and your hand. then slowly leave your hand at the waters surface till the aro grabs it. the first few grabs he might mouth your fingers cuz hes just going all out. but soon it'll learn to grab just the food. gl. and dont be scared of getting bitten (girls do more damage ;))

That's way too calm. The way mine hits a piece of food now at nine inches, I don't want my hands anywhere near his mouth. But good luck with it. Let us know how it works out for you. Let us know if you need anything, like Neo changing your user name to Stumpy.:ROFL:
 
man, this is one was nice
but try not to trust him always. look at what happened to hotfishgirl.
My silver just know where I always trow in some pellets, just hit the water and grab it.
