Hi guys, I bought this device thinking it'd work as an air stone. I was partially correct. It has an inlet for the air pump to come in, but then it doesn't cause bubbles to come out of the spongest. The L shaped thing at the top seems to be an opening for the filter. Here's a description and the picture.

I have a canister filter, a Rena XP3, I was thinking I had to connect either the inlet or the outlet to this thing.

It states in the add it’s meant to be used as a prefilter for a canister or HOB filter…

Well they try to say that but do so but it seems the authors English isn’t so good…

I see where it appears you can connect an airline. I would suspect if you used the suction cup (included) to hold it upright (like it is in the picture) then air would rise through the tube causing water to rise with it… thus causing water to be sucked in through the sponges… If you do this I suggest removing the L shaped fitting on the top of the riser…

I personally would not use it on a canister filter as the tight knit sponge will drastically reduce the water flow of the canister…
