Install a pond liner and plumbing onto a 3 inch knife gate valve and have no leaks?
Installed in this order:
(pump guard> Piping> pond liner>Knife valve>piping> pump) The mesh is on the piping so that only water gets sucked into the pump and then it is attached to the knife valve with the liner inbetween them and then on the outside of the koi show tank would be piping conecting the knife valve to the pump.

The knife valve is built into the show tank, but I would have to install a 45mil liner into the show tank so that the catfish and driftwood and rock don't puncture holes into the showtank wjich would act as a frame fro the pondliner.

heres a pic of the show tank with the built in knife valve: P.s. I haven't purchased it yet or any of the other supplies.

Can you provide a close up picture? I don't get what you're trying to say.

Sorry, I don't know how to make myself any clearer. You would hate to have to understand my voice, at least on here it's just my confusing thoughts.

It would help if I could draw a readable diagram.

How do I attache a liner to something like this:

and still connect plumbing to both sides and not have leaks? ( Is that a better way of saying it?) when the show tank liner is already attached to it and I want to keep the sow tank intact.

All they did was unbolt the (4) bolt on the knift valve and sandwiched the liner between. You can probably unbolt it and put your pond liner in between also.
Seems kinda expensive to buy a show tank only to put a pond liner into it.
I woulda built a wood frame with pond liner intead. Holes through the liner can be accommodated with standard bulkhead fittings.

Thanks.

I am not the best at construction and this way I wouldn't end up turning a room into a swamp and for the pondliner and show tank I get the size and volume I would like for 50-60 cents per gallon.

So would I need something like silicone to seal the liner to the valve after I screw it onto the valve.
