How do Red devils survived with that color in the wild?

How do Red devils survive in the wild with that color? I know their gray when young but when adult their bright red/orange/yellow which makes them easily seen by larger predators and their potential prey.
 
Below 15ft red wave lengths can't penetrate, so they effectively become invisible. The barred fish occupied the shallow reagions while the red fish live in deeper water. The fish breed in the shallows so all young are born barred but the red fish peal as they move to deeper water.
 
If you ever go scuba diving OP you'll notice the warmer colors wash out as you descend.

Hello; I am not current on red devils, so my ignorance may show with this comment. A number of aquarium fish have colors very different than those in the wild. If the red devils are tank raised is it posible the coloration has been selected for by human breeders? Perhaps like the betta.
