True, but can be used in F/W if given enough food.

They do look a little small, the second one looks to bew a 20g long.

Rule of thumb for a W/D 1/3 of tanks size if it's the only filter.

Seriously, we need to know the parameters of your tank.

Is the ammonia/nitrites/nitrates high?

If the chemistry is right you should only be doing W/C's to lower the nitrates and add a few minerals plus make up for evaporation.

It's just a way of life...Have you considered a drip system?
