How do you do a fish cycle every time i put a fish in my tank guppies, feeders. they die within 2 days. what fish would u recomend to be put into the tank to cycle it?

how do yours die so fast? I'm using rosie minnows/tuffies in mine. they've been in there for 2 wks already!

Agh idk.. i guess my lfs rosies suck.. I'm going tomorrow and buying like 8 dozen and hopeing that will last me lmao

Depending on the size of the tank, it sounds like you are putting to many in at a time. Try only half a dozen, or cons. Cons are really tough. If you put to many fish in at once the ammonia will sky rocket, and all will die.

Howdy,

guppies should be able to make it. Your problem will not vanish by choosing a different species.

I strongly recommend getting bottled bacteria to boost your cycle. You should be able to cycle a tank without any loss of fish.

Good luck,
HarleyK

if u got another tank just take out a old filter cartradge and put it inthe tank to be cycled filter system give it 48hrs.

Is this your 10g?

Did you dechlor?

What's the chemistry?

I agree with Harleyk, throwing diferent fish at won't help. Get the chemistry right first.

How's the big fish doing?

I agre with everone, you may be overstocking. start with a handfull & let the tank cycle. you throw that many in & bam they poison themselves.

Add a bacteria boost if you like, or cycle without fish, then NONE will die. A fishless cycle with ammonia is not too hard to do.
