Pretty much the title says it all. I set up my 100 gallon filled it 3/4 full and an hour later waters all over the floor. So i have the tank drained but i don't see any cracks or holes so can anyone help me?

easiest way would have been to look where the water was coming out before you drained it.

edit: accidently hit the post button before i was done.

the water pressure could have seperated a seem in the tank, but when theres no pressure on the sides, the tank appears to be fine.

Often the silicone will look a different color where the leak was. Like if clear silicone it will look more white in color. I would reseal the whole tank at that point though unless you find that the problem was caused by something specific (ie fish picking at silicone in one spot).

Can also refill the tank and take a turkey baster full of food coloring. Squirt just a little bit out along the seams. if it emptied within an hour it should be going fast enough to be able to see the water flow some toward the leak.

The food coloring method is a good idea. However, I have tried it several times but it never worked for me. I usually end up resealing the whole tank. I actually think it is better to reseal the whole tank. That way you have the added assurance of a new, all round seal that can last another 5 to 10 years.

what i do is a put a little dish soap or childs bouble solotion on a towel and whip my tank on the outside! with it where i boubles is the colprite. make sure u clean it very well before putting fise

You may have trouble with old silicone bonding with new silicone. especially if they are different varieties of silicone. Im guessing you probably dont know what was used originally. Also, if the silicone was compromised due to drying out or age then its likely that condition exists throughout the tank. For those reasons I agree with the others - Reseal the whole tank. If nothing else, youll have peace of mind.

I'd fill it up, dry the outside with a dry towel and see where the water is coming from. If its a small stream or drips, I'd just smear some new silicone on top of the old and call it a day.

I would not reseal the whole thing. Worst case I'd cut as much silicone as I could from the 1 leaky area and reseal that whole side.

Resealing an entire 100g tank is going to be difficult, time consuming and fairly expensive. Don't make extra work for yourself unless you just like the work.

Find the leak and make sure it's not the silicone turning into mush. if it's just a pinhole leak then cut out that area clean it and reseal. tearing down the whole tank for a pinhole? Like tearing apart your car motor for a leaking oil pan gasket...
