how do u fix fin rot ASAP

i have an 25cm oscar who has fin rot and i was wondering how u fix it. i also have a fish who has a peice of its tail missing and it has not grown back yet after about 2 mouths how do i fix it
need help ASAP!!!!!!!!

just keep up with water changes, water quality is the key. some melafix might help as well

I also have a similar prob with my guppies, their tails are rotting away and now they seem to have stabilised i.e. not getting any worse, but they dun seem to be healing. I'm putting them on a 4 dose course of anti-finrot medication now as safety. But I'm still doing w/c and will prob increase e freq soon. However I'm not quite keen on adding more salt as I feel my nanas might get affected; some of their leaves have turned yellow n even brown. Does a relatively high dosage of salt affect nanas?

Also, remedy any overcrowding, make sure your tank size is appropriate, and get rid of any fin-nippers.

Agree with the above. A healthy fish, in proper housing with clean water, does not get fin rot. Any anti-bacterial meds other than Melafix or Pimafix will crash your biological system. See my sig!
