how do u ID a blue diamond rhom?

I was in one of my LFS today and they had a rhom they just labeled as a black it was about 8" but when light hit it it almost had a blue hu to him i have seen pics of blues before but i was wondering if it it jsut a color variant or is there a distinctive body feture to help id (he was in a tank VERY small and would not come out of the back and he was on the bottom shelf,gournd level)

if anyone knows how to distinguish i would like to know b/c if it was a blue not just the light hitting him funny i would pick him up
 
it is just a slight color variation. as said above...all rhoms have some blue, but it's a little more prominent in the "blue rhoms".
 
ahh got it see i have seen pics of what is called a blue and it was BLUE i mean it had alot of blue in it and i didn't know b/c of the color varyance if there was anything else to tell them apart
 
is this blue??? lol, low light and no flash. This BDR is at the Shedd Aquarium in Chi.

this is a pic of my blue diamond rhom 9" but this was taken with a flash best i could find i also had a 10" purple diamond rhom i will post this pic for now and find the rest later hope this helps

hear is the purple diamond rhom my friend took this picture im allso looking after a 11" black diamond rom aswell if u want to see a picture of that just let me no and i will take one ;)
