20-50 depending on the size of female. You saw only two because the rest were eaten by their tankmates. This is not unusual. I don't think however guppies need their fry isolated. They were not called "million fish" for nothing.

Add more hiding places to increase their chances of survival. Yes, adult guppies also eat them.
