How do u sex blood parrots

I have one about 5" and I cant tell. I would like to cross it with a carpintis. But need to sex it first thanks

I would think you would look at the vent just like on other fish.

Sexing them is very hard. The only way I know is when my female has eggs... her egg tube get's huge too... other then that if they are not breeding then it is really hard to tell. I have 7 Blood parrots and only know for sure one is female.
