What do you guys use to keep oxygen up in your tanks? Can anybody recommend a SUPER quiet airpump from experience? Or any better ideas?

Piston air pumps are powerful and quieter. like seriously

what are you looking to aerate?

I have a sump that flows 1400gph, so my tank is likely aerated by that alone, but I also use a tetra AP300 for good measure. The tank is 210 gallons.

Just under 600 litres but there's a fair few plants so just keeping it topped up overnight mostly.
with the tetra ap's I had one many years ago and I remember it being really annoying is it quiet? And I've never heard of piston pumps?

Piston pumps are run differently to most pumps, they don't use a diaphram

No monster tank. 55. I have a reverse undergravel filter, and I have a pipe with a ball valve running to the top with a nozzle on the end. I send some of my pump output to send a stream across the surface of the water to create ripples (aka aeration).

My 180 is supplied with aeration from my trickle filtered sump and Aquaclear 110 plenty of surface movement.

You really just need some good flow and surface agitation. You can achieve this be just pointing a filter return towards the surface or doing the same with a power head.

If you run a sump then the flow through it is probably plenty and I wouldn't worry about it.

Jehmco and alita. Both are very quiet. Linear pumps are more reliable but more expensive.
