How do you breed bushynose pleco?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If you were close by, I'd give you my frys which my severums are snacking on..

Anyways i dont really do any special things for my BN, they just keep breeding.. maybe give them lots of food and caves, make sure there is atleast 3f to 1 male.

Good luck

my brother (peacock madness) had a hoard of bn's in his 55g. He has some driftwood and stones aranged into makeshift caves and no breeding ever happend. I made him a cave specifically for them, 36 hours later his big male was fanning eggs, and now he has his first batch of juvi's. All it takes is 1 male, 1 female, and 1 good cave. They aren't picky at all

Mostly brown and some calicos

I live in Phoenix myself and have blue-eyed bristlenose fry for sale (PM me about that if you want). For the parents, I keep them in a 55 with lots of driftwood and a few caves. It took a while for them to get the hang of it, but now they seem to be producing well. The first clutch always seems to be the hardest.

You can have 1-3 females with 1 male, 2 females works best for me any more than that and the male will kick out some of the eggs from his cave. at least weekly 75% water changes prior to spawning do NO water changes while the male is fanning the eggs, temp 72-75 f. After the females lay remove them into another tank, this will take a lot of stress off of the male. I add 3 drops per gallon of meth. blue to keep the hatch rate high. The male is the one that will guard the eggs. Here is a pic of one of the caves I use,the fish do not completely fit in the caves I use but they seem to prefer them over any thing else. do not feed until the plecos are free swimming. I breed them in a 10 gallon tank with a sponge filter, heater and no sand. any more questions pm me.
