heaven is my home
i was just wondering how everyone cleans their tubing for their intake/out take tubing for their canister filter?? on my old can filter, the tubes were big enough that i took two hangers and stretched them out and attached a brush at the end and pulled it through but theres got to be a better way of doing it, so if anyone could save me some time and frustration, much appreciated.

bottle brush on a wooden dowel is the best.. toothbrush on a dowel is also good..

pulling small wads of windowscreen/scrubby through with a length of wire also works pretty good..

Most LFS sell brushes attached to a flexible wire for this purpose, they seem to work pretty well from experience.

I usually just use the jet nosil on my hose and spray both ends.

:grinno: This is what I use. I have a longer version (3 feet) that I built it works quite well. I use this and a combination of a lot of hot water and the gunk comes right out.

thanks guys i appreciate all the comments. my old way was really tickin me off :)

I don't. Algae is not really a problem, nor is gunk. Only clean it if it start restricting flow.
