i was just wondering if and how you clean the algae from the bottom of your bare bottom tank? i got a new black bare bottom tank, and have had it for a couple of months. it is starting to get algae on the bottom glass and does not look as good as when it was new.

i had an idea to go buy a cheap sponge mop at walmart and mop the bottom glass, it worked great, just thought i would share.

I would just use a new sponge or you can buy a scrubby on a stick at your lfs. If you use a sponge make to use a brand new one to unsure it hasnt come in contact with any chemicals.

ha ha thanks, but the walmart mop was $5 :) it does not work well for cleaning the front or back glass though.

lol, I just bought the "windsheild wonder" I like it's flat surface for cleaning the sides and the bottomand microfiber cloths are nice on the acrylic. It is only 16" so I still have to stick my arm in the water, but it works.
