How do you determine the stability of a datnoid

I see a lot of xx% stable yada yada. How do u determine how stable a dat is??? I'm sure its just guesstimating. But what type of signs do u look for to guess how stable they really are?

To me if a dat is called 50% stable its showing solid bars and gold half the time

To me a Dat is either stable or not stable.
There is no percentage of stability, I use to have a Dat that was stable ALWAYS moved tank, change decor, water change, feeding, netting always stable.
and then theres dats that just isnt stable or can be stable during some movement or feeding and to me that is just an unstable dat.

Either it's stable or it's not, that's my take.

IMO, i really think the dat will stable up if put in the same tank for a long time.

Ive had mine in the same tank for a year and only one is really stable

^^Yep,if you can clearly see the dat's bars standing out boldly against the light background then it is stable.
