I have found a very lucky longnose gar right off the marina where i live and I wanted to catch more is there any help you can give me like equipment and water depth and everything?
How do you dipnet for baby gars?

i dip net all the time, and have caught about 23 gar
when they are about 1-2in where there is one, there are more
but the latest one i caught is 3 1/2in, was probably alone, and the
water was much deeper, (about 4ft)
shallow water is best for catching babies, (1-2in) around plants, (dipnet under and in water plants) thats where i catch everything
just use a fine mesh dipnet, that is very strong
